Beaucerons In Obedience & Rally

For two short months (March & April) in the spring of 2001, the Beauceron was allowed to compete in the AKC obedience ring. On May 1st, a moritorium was imposed and they were not allowed to compete again until September 1, 2001, at which time the Beauceron was moved into the Miscellaneous Class.

One Beauceron was able to take advantage of that short period of time in the spring of 2001.

A special congratulations to Mr. Lucky B. Lyttle and owner J'Anna Lyttle. Lucky was the first Beauceron to earn an AKC Companion Dog (CD) title, and the first Beauceron to earn an AKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title.

Lucky and J'Anna had a very busy month in March of 2001. They earned the first two legs of their AKC Companion Dog (CD) title on March 10 & 11. They finished their UKC Companion Dog (CD) title the following weekend on March 17th (Lucky must be part Irish). Then they topped the month off with the third and final leg for their AKC CD the following weekend on March 24th earning their title! Lucky has since followed that up with a UKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title and an AKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title.

Lucky is not only an accomplished obedience dog, but he is an accomplished agility dog as well. If that is not enough to keep him busy, he also does competition weight pulling. Be sure to check out Lucky's agility accomplishments on the agility page.

While Mike took their other Beauceron Cara up to NYC to Ground Zero (see the Search & Rescue page for more on Cara), Jody held down the fort and earned two Companion Dog (CD) titles in Mike's absence. Jody put titles on both Radar and Raven on September 16, 2001. Cara was also entered in the trial but was unable to make it because she had more important things to do. Radar and Raven are both Search and Rescue dogs as well, just like their big sister Cara. You guys are awesome!

Born November 4, 2002, Texas was just under 7 1/2 months old June 15th when she earned her AKC Companion Dog (CD) title, making her the youngest Beauceron ever to do so. She topped that off by completing her AKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title just two and a half months later when she was just shy of 10 months of age! Texas topped that off by completing her AKC Utility Dog (UD) title less then 2 weeks shy of her 1st birthday, making her eligible for the Front & Finish Platinum Award.
