About Me

Hi there! I'm Elaine Giannelli, your host at About Beaucerons. This website is my gift to all people passionate about the Beauceron breed. I hope you are enjoying your visit. Feel free to send me an email at elaine@aboutbeaucerons.com to let me know what you think about my website or if you have ideas on things to add or how to improve the website.

Don't forget to sign my guestbook while you are here.

If you would like to see my Beauceron, Soleil du Murier de Sordeille, the inspiration behind this website, I have lots of pictures of her in the Photo Gallery.

Soleil 3 to 6 months old
Soleil 6 to 12 months old
Soleil 12 to 24 months old

Soleil is also a certified Therapy Dog. You can see her work here: Soleil Pet Therapy

Soleil is an incredible agility dog. She was the top Beauceron in the USA in 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008. She came in 6th in the 26" class at the 2006 AKC National Agility Championships and has qualified for the AKC World Team Tryouts in 2006, 2007 and 2008. She came in 4th place in the 24" height class at the 2008 AKC Agility Invitationals. To top it all off, she now has Agility Champion titles from two different organizations. She has earned the MACH (Master Agility Champion) title with the AKC (American Kennel Club), and she has earned the ADCH (Agility Dog Champion) title with USDAA (United States Dog Agility Association). Soleil has been an incredible agility partner and a wonderfully enthusiastic teammate. She has by far exceeded all expectations I had of her when I picked her out at 8 weeks old.

You can view videos of Soleil doing agility here: Soleil's Agility Runs

Soleil and I went back to France in May, 2002 for the Nationale d'Elevage, the National Beauceron Specialty in France. She received a rating of Recommandée or Cotation 4 at just 12 months of age. To earn this she had to get an Excellent rating on the temperament test, an Excellent Plus rating in conformation, and be certified free of hip dysplasia. Soleil received a French hip rating of Dys A/A which means she is free of hip dysplasia. I have a special photo album of our trip here: Soleil in France - May 2002

My new Beauceron puppy is Mickey, Disney du Bois du Nord. He is currently working in agility, but is still too young to start competing. I take it slow and let the puppies finish growing before I do too much with them. Too many things can happen if you push them too fast. They are a very slow breed to mature. You can see Mickey's photo slide show on the home page..
